BRAKE & LIGHT INSPECTIONS

WHAT WILL IT COST ME TO GET AN INSPECTION?

If you have a standard motor vehicle NOT classified as "Heavy Duty", after all CA Standard items are checked by our staff and pass inspection, the cost at Richard's Automotive is $71.00.

If your first inspection does not pass the State requirements, your initial inspection is good for 90 days and may be subject to a $10.00 re-inspection fee per inspection.  If repairs are completed by Richard's Automotive, no reinspection fee will be charged. Re-inspections performed AFTER the initial invoice date are classified as a NEW inspection and customer must pay the full price to have the inspection performed. 

HOW TO PREPARE FOR THE INSPECTION
To properly prepare for the inspection:
In general terms, all of the factory lights need to be present and working correctly on the vehicle.
The brakes need to be approved, working correctly, with no leaks. Vehicle needs parking brake with Indicator and Brake Failure Indicator properly working.  Drums and rotors must be within specifications to your vehicle.

WHAT TYPE OF VEHICLES DO WE INSPECT?
We inspect motorcyles, light weight trucks, and standard cars with a gross vehicle weight up to 10,000 GVW
 

WHAT IS THE BREAKDOWN OF THE INSPECTION COST?
The cost of a Brake Inspection is $37.00 for a vehicle less than 10,000 GVW.  *Trucks where axles need to be pulled to check brakes are $73.00

The cost of a Light Inspection is $27.00 for a vehicle less than 10,000 GVW

Each Certificate is $3.50. Total for Inspections and Certs. - $71.00
*Trucks where axles need to be pulled to check brakes - $107.00
